ACCOUNTING CLERK/BOOKKEEPER

 

L.A.C. Appraisal Testing required before registration into program.
Learn basic accounting concepts on verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents. Also on how to update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and records and reports detailing financial business transactions both manually and electronically (QuickBooks). Cost: $75 per class.

Note: Financial Aid is available with concurrent enrollment in either the General Office Clerk Program (850 hours) or Administrative Assistant Program (1000 hours).

BASIC COMPUTER SPECIALIST/GENERAL OFFICE CLERK (850 clock hours)

 

Prerequisite: L.A.C. Appraisal Testing required before registration into program.
This program prepares students for independent work in an office setting. Students gain a broad background in business math, computer applications and business writing which provides them with the ability to work in most office departments. Students attain skills development in keyboarding through speed drills and the production of reports and other business documents; develop verbal and written communication skills, including memo writing; and improve their customer service skills. Students must satisfactorily complete eight courses to be awarded a Gold Certificate of Completion. Students completing this program will be well prepared to enroll to a higher level Administrative Assistant Program. Cost: $495 per semester + textbook required.

  Prepare for an exciting career as an administrative assistant. This course is designed to give you the precise skills needed in today's world. Learn how to be proficient in your interpersonal skills, phone etiquette, professional teamwork, office equipment and common administration procedures including customer service skills - all in an office like setting. Learn advanced techniques in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access and Outlook), become familiar with Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign), and develop basic Business math and English skills. INTRO TO COMPUTERS / MICROSOFT OFFICE
This course is designed for the novice who wishes to learn the basic operations of the computer. The intro portion will cover everything from the components, maintenance to the computer to creating documents and graphics using Microsoft Windows. Advancing into basic Microsoft Office. Applications covered will include: Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and PowerPoint. This is a lecture/hands-on and practice class. Student will need some computer knowledge. Cost: $75 per class.

This class is designed for working adults with some experience in Microsoft Word. INTRO TO MAYA 3D / ANIMATION
Students will learn how to create 3D and 3D animation using industry standard software. Lean to design characters, models and effects – rendering images into 3D form or computer generated 3D animation. AutoDesk Maya is the tool of choice for those in film, television, and game development in the design industry. Publication and industrial manufacturing companies use Maya as one of their primary program in 3D models. (Maya 2016) Cost: $75. Prerequisite: Student must be computer literate.
